Some workers that are fall into certain categories are not covered by workers compensation if some work-related accidents happen. If he has injured at work, these workers are not getting any benefit from workers compensation system, but any other means of looking for compensation may be usable.

1. Independent Contractors

Independent contractors are not employees; hence they are not giving any benefit from worker’s compensation system. - Independent contractors do not get any benefit in terms like individual health insurance, leave days/ vacations, or other benefits.

For those who work in this particular area, Longshore and Harbour Workers’ Compensation Act will cover if any injuries occurred only in navigable waters of United States. Employees works on defence bases or public works beyond U.S continental are covered by the Defence Base Act.
