Disability Financial Assistance for Poor and Uncertain Health Prognosis
Three out of ten workers between ages 35 and 65 are disabled, due to accident or illness, for 90 days or longer, and almost one in five will become disabled for 5 years or more (College for Financial Planning 2002). The financial consequences of losing income for many months can be devastating. Not only do many disabled workers not receive a paycheck, but expenses associated with a disability, such as medical bills, create additional financial pressure. (more…)
